Finding Opportunities in the Care Gap

The CDC estimates that 53 million Americans provide unpaid care for a spouse, relative, or friend who has a disability or is experiencing the effects of aging. Looking more broadly at those providing any kind of care to a child, parent, or relative it is estimated that there are 100 million family caregivers in the U.S.

In coming years, the number of Americans requiring help from their family is set to climb driven by factors including the aging of Baby Boomers, economic pressures, and changing family structures. At the same time, the share of the population available to provide family care is shrinking.

This care gap will widen, providing businesses with a massive opportunity for innovation and growth. In fact, the value of care provided by family caregivers was already estimated at $600 billion in 2021, and will only grow.

To help businesses tap into this potential, Kantar is pleased to announce the launch of Caregiving Reimagined. This multi-client research project will:

– Explore the forces shaping the future of caregiving.

– Develop a clear POV on the future of caregiving in the U.S. over the next 5-10 years.

– Deliver a rich set of implications and opportunities to help brands and businesses find future growth.

Join us for this critical and timely exploration of the future, kicking off in late October 2024.
